This keyboard dampening foam comes in two varieties, with one made of EVA and the other made of Keysporon. Both materials have excellent shock absorption properties, making them perfect materials for dampening pinging and other unwanted keyboard sounds. The differences in material result in slightly different sound profiles during keyboard usage and comes down to use preference. This plate dampening foam is best installed during a new keyboard build, as it needs to be installed between the plate and PCB, before the switches are soldered in. After a keyboard has already been built, this dampening foam can still be installed, but may require desoldering your switches first unless you have a hotswap keyboard.
